Deep Insights in Microsoft .NET

I have been working with Microsoft .NET since Beta 2. I first learnt it by myself in 2001 and was the first guy to install and use Visual Studio 2000 at that time. I installed Visual Studio for all my team members in the first .NET project we got. I have learnt a lot and have kept everything to myself so far.... Let me share what I have learnt and contribute to the community now...

Tutorial: Using Google Cloud Storage from C# and .NET

December 16, 2014

There is almost no samples or documentation available anywhere for this, so I thought I would write this up myself as using the storage from GCS (similar to Amazon S3 and Azure Blob Storage) is one of the most basic things which people do with the cloud. The very first thing to do after creating the C# project in Visual Studio is to install the Nuget package mentioned here: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Google.Apis.Storage.v1/ There is a lot of confusion with multiple packages available, but this is what you want for GCS. Install-Package Google.Apis.Storage.v1 You are going to need to reference the following namespaces: using Google.Apis.Auth.OAuth2; using Google.Apis.Storage.v1; Setup the basic items you need for making the calls: private static ClientSecrets _clientSecrets = new ClientSecrets(); private static UserCredential _userCredential = null; private static StorageService _storageService = new StorageSer...

Dealing with the morons who built Dell 7710 and RAID

August 14, 2017

There is no clear documentation available online, so here goes: - the cryptic device configuration option in the boot options is where you configure RAID. - the morons who developed UEFI screwed all of us. If you have a full system image backup of lousy windows 10 - to restore that piece of steaming bullshit, your USB drive should be formatted for UEFI. Otherwise windows booted from a regular USB drive will whine that UEFI is not available. - trying to add a option via the bios does not work Lastly, to get the lousy RAID drivers to be able to install windows 10 on fresh drives, download the intel storage drivers from the Dell support website for the 7710. It will not say RAID anywhere, but if you download it and extract the contents to a USB drive, on recovery, when it asks for the driver, select one of the system information files and your raid drive will be visible now. Thank you Dell support for not doing your job and not mentioning this information anywhere in a way humans ...
